to move an asset in the asset tree one would provide a different parent code. when performing this the "cance" and "update" buttons are greyed out

when creating a new asset on asset tree and asset list page

It is not currently possible to update a record and make the notes field blank if it previously had text in. You will need to use the Merge webservice for that.
